Your John Pye Auctions Reviews
Liz Gowdy: 1/5 Stars 24/09/2019 Electrical Items are Sold in Dangerous Condition & unrepairable We have used John Pye for a few years now & after moving to Chesterfield in June was pleased to see an auction house here. In the last few months we have spent alot of money with them buying bargains, until 19/9/19 We purchased several items, Now I'm aware that it's sold as it lies, but 1st item - parts missing, this renders it unable to use, until these parts are purchased. This wasn't mentioned on auction description & box was sealed. 2nd item - this is Dangerous & should not of been sold, the main wire had been cut & is not repairable as it's a sealed unit, again in a sealed box. I requested a full refund on this item as dangerous & should not of been sold. Refund Refused 3rd item - Parts missing again not mentioned in auction description & in a sealed box. 4th Item - Has an EU plug, again not mentioned in auction description & in a sealed box. We appreciate the items that require replacement parts is the chance you take at auction. But the 2nd item is about as much use as a chocolate fireplace & should not of been offered forsale. After speaking to several staff members & emailing. Eventually Customer Services called me back & basically said tough, apparently the boxes can be opened on viewing day, this is not necessarily the case. Have to have a member of staff with you & finding one is like rocking horse ####. On collection day the checkout member of staff who gets you to sign for goods received. Apparently that signature also says that you've checked everything is correct & as it should be. They will not except any responsibility for selling dangerous electrical items. Absolutely disgusting, no other company would get away with this. John Pye Auctions has not yet responded. David Eddy: 1/5 Stars 31/12/2018 Where’s trading standards? I have never seen so many disappointed faces leaving one building following a visit to JOHN PYE auctions in Port Talbot. Yes you may find 1or2 bargains, the majority of the items are returns, and either do not work, or are badly damaged!! In my case I purchased a compressor that looked brand new and still boxed, it turned out that if I had attempted to start this item up, it most definitely had the potential to cause risk or serious harm to the individual using it!! Also this company will tell you that their RRPs are professionally sourced which is rubbish as a radiator identical to the one they were selling I found on the web for £250, they say the RRP was £850!! Avoid this company as they WILL most definitely sting you, trust me!! John Pye Auctions has not yet responded. READ MORE: Shopping Guides & Tips | How to Avoid Scams & Online Shopping Problems |

Farhan Khatri: 1/5 Stars 07/02/2018 Items given to wrong courier and lost during delivery I won few items from Derby, Wales and Marchington. I arranged courier collection from all three sites. Derby and Wales were collected by Parcelforce and Yodel respectively and arrived at my address. With Marchington I asked myhermes to collect through parcel2go website. It was booked end of December and after 10 days of non collection, I was getting threatening emails from Marchington John Pye site that I will incur storage charges. After couple of days of difficult job to get hold of myhermes customer service and parcel2go customer service, I found out that they had no idea what was going on. Myhermes customer service told me that they have no plans to collect the item, but I need to contact parcel2go to cancel the order. It was 11th January morning, I called John Pye Auctions Marchington office to find out if the parcel was collected and was told it is still not collected. I then got hold of parcel2go customer service and asked them to cancel the collection and issue a refund. They cancelled the order issued a refund. I then immediately contacted another courier company and asked them to collect the parcel and tried to phone them but there was no answer so I emailed marchington that this courier company will collect the parcel. In the afternoon I got email from the new courier company that we went to collect but the item was already given to myhermes around 12 noon which was after I had already informed them that the new courier company will collect the item. After a week of not receiving the items, I contacted parcel2go customer service and was told that the items are lost as there is no tracking since collection. They asked for detailed description of the items, I emailed Johnpye Auction Marchington to find out. I emailed them 3 or 4 times in few days but they would not return my email and phone was always busy. I then emailed them again in a weeks time with cc to their Director and I got a reply saying that they gave the items to the courier company that I provided the label for. But I already informed them of the change and they still gave it to the wrong company and now the parcel is lost. I asked them to reimburse me for the loss and now again no response. Also I must mention that even some of the items which look new and packed have defects and sometimes unusable. John Pye Auctions has not yet responded.
